چکیده
In practical applications, the analysis and control on polarization state are important. The spun birefringent optical fiber has diverse characteristics. It can be used to manufacture linear maintaining (PM) fibers, rotators, retarders, arbitrary of fibers. To understand diversity fiber, an analytical model based Jones matrix is established. a general which could explain why so many behaviors. A deep shows two key parameters fiber. When we change parameters, will degenerate into fiber-optic rotator, retarder, or device. According approximate models, property devices analyzed optimized exactly. new theoretical clear physical meaning brings conveniences for designing sensors, filters, wave plates,

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model
over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...
15 صفحه اولJones matrix analysis for a polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography system using fiber-optic components.
We present an analysis for polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography that facilitates the unrestricted use of fiber and fiber-optic components throughout an interferometer and yields sample birefringence, diattenuation, and relative optic axis orientation. We use a novel Jones matrix approach that compares the polarization states of light reflected from the sample surface with those r...
متن کاملBirefringent optical fiber with dispersive orientation of polarization axes.
We demonstrate for the first time in optical fibers the "dispersion of the axes" phenomenon, which relies upon spectral dependence of polarization planes of the guided modes. This feature was achieved in a specially designed side-hole fiber by combining linear birefringence induced by a pair of holes located in the cladding and the elliptical core tilted with respect to the symmetry plane of th...
متن کاملAnalytical Treatment of Randomly Birefringent Periodically Spun Fibers
Spun fibers are increasingly used in telecommunication systems because their polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) is lower than that in unspun fibers. In this paper, we investigate the effects of a periodic spin on the PMD of fibers with randomly varying birefringence. Numerical simulations show that when the spin period is of the same order as or larger than the beat length, the mean differentia...
متن کاملAn Analytical Formula for the Mean Differential Group Delay of Randomly Birefringent Spun Fibers
Polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) is a serious impairment for high-bit-rate optical telecommunication systems. It is known that spinning the fiber during the drawing process drastically reduces the PMD. However, the analysis of pulse propagation through a randomly birefringent spun fiber is still at an early stage. In this paper, we derive an analytical formula for the mean differential group ...
